CGI Scripts

Web site hosted on our Unix-based servers can run Perl-CGI scripts that have been approved to run in your local cgi-bin directory or are available from the shared cgi-bin directory. In most cases, Perl-CGI scripts can also be enabled for sites hosted on our Windows-based servers though we will set these up only on a per request basis.

Please for a list of the scripts available to use in our shared cgi-bin directory that are not listed here.

FORM PROCESSING:
The most common form processing script is Matt Wright's FormMail script that we have the most current version available for your use. A good resource for setting up your script can be found on Matt's site: FormMail.pl (ver. 1.92) support. Other scripts available on Matt's site can be installed on our server upon request though may require some sopport for configuration. You may download the FormMail script or read the associated README.txt file for the script.

DISSCUSSION BOARD/FORUM:
The forum script we have implemented is the DiscusWare script that is inexpensive ($150), has many common features and is high highly configurable. Learn more about the DiscusWare script at the author's site. We can provide installation and configuration assistance on a per-hour basis if you need it.

PAGE HIT COUNTER:
A simple page counter can be incorporated by using a "Server Side Include" (SSL) on a web page of your site (Unix hosted sites only). A SSL is simply a type of HTML comment that directs the Web server to dynamically generate data for the Web page whenever that page is loaded. To add a page counter to your page that looks like this: (2792), insert the following tag into your page.

(<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/counter"-->)
